The service classes of economy, premium economy, business, and first class are further divided into fare classes, which appear as a letter on your ticket. Each seat on an airplane is put in a fare class, which each come with their own set of rules and price.

What is a Fare Class and Why Does it Matter?

A fare class is a letter such as D, Y or Q that is used to identify a particular airfare type.

Your fare class will be displayed on the pop-up. Alternatively, you can see your fare class in ‘Manage My Booking’. Under the flight details drop down, there is a link to ‘More Flight Information’, which triggers a pop-up with the aircraft type, flight duration and other flight details and your ‘selling class’, which is you fare class.
